A Criminal Activity by Warid Telecom!

The Consumer Court on Tuesday issued notice to the administration of a Warid Telecom for issuing a SIM, already in use, to an unidentified customer on a fake CNIC without any authorization from the customer using the SIM. The SIM was later used for illegally transacting money from an ATM.

The petition was filed by Ibrar Ahmad, who informed the court that he received call from his bank confirming the withdrawal of Rs.119, 243/- from his account. He said that he was shocked to know it as he had made any such transaction. He said that the bank officer also told him that his SIM had been used for creating a new pin code for his ATM card and later used to transact the money.   He said after that he contacted Warid office and found out that they had issued a SIM of the same number that he was using to an unknown customer without confirming the authenticity of the identity card he had provided to the company
