Lahore-K-Electric (KE), Pakistan’s sole vertically integrated power utility, and Daraz, Pakistan’s leading ecommerce platform, have enteredinto a partnership to offer Karachi-based customers a convenient digital payment solution via the Daraz platform.
This partnership enables KE’s customers to pay their electricity bills through “dBills” – a dedicated utility bills payment channel on Daraz – using their Visa and Mastercard debit/credit card, DarazWallet, Easypaisa or JazzCash. KE customers can now avail 10% discount on payment of their electricity bills (up to Rs 700) using the promocode KEDAZ10 at the time of checkout.
Mr. Ahsan Anis, Head of Strategy & Commercial Planning, KE, said, “This partnership with Daraz is a significant step towards bringing convenience to our customers via digitalisation. We look forward to following the example of some countries where 90% of power utility bills were paid via e-payment channels during the COVID-19 lockdown.”
“We are constantly seeking new avenues through which we can contribute to digitalisation in the country. During these difficult times, the partnership with KE allows us to ensure people do not have to leave home to fulfill their basic needs.,” said Mr. Ehsan Saya, Managing Director Daraz Pakistan.
The past few months have seen a rapid increase in digital adoption worldwide, including Pakistan. This partnership with Daraz will benefit KE’s 2.8 million customers, by offering them the means to pay digitally.
