The Chairman Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) – Dr. Mohammad Yaseen visited the Mobilink Call Centre in Islamabad on 2nd April, 2012, to evaluate the efforts in implementing the “Automation of Pre Sale Documentation Procedure”. He personally saw a Live demonstration of the Customer Verification Process, which works in conjunction with the records of “National Data Base and Registration Authority” (NADRA).
The Chairman PTA, who was accompanied by DG (Enforcement) and Deputy Director PTA, also chaired a colorful ceremony where certificates and Souvenirs were awarded to the members of the Mobilink team, who participated in the implementation of this innovative procedure. The visiting PTA officials appreciated the efficient execution of this initiative and expressed their satisfaction with Mobilink’s system efficacy that is designed to respond to a customer’s request within 10 seconds and activate a SIM within 2-3 minutes.
The Chairman PTA said; “This is another great milestone for the telecom industry of Pakistan, to implement a comprehensive & automated system which ensures safety and peace of mind for the subscribers, by securing the telecom networks from unauthentic customer credentials. Mobilink has always proactively risen to challenges and enriched PTA’s progressive reforms”.
Mobilink’s Vice President Corporate Affairs, Agha Qasim said; “I congratulate the Mobilink team for swiftly enabling this critical system of verification, sale and activation of new SIMs. In order to enjoy a higher level of security and seamless connectivity from their Mobilink connections, our customers are advised to purchase their SIMs only from the Authorized Sales Outlets.
This initiative will serve as a giant leap towards an automated data verification process, which will minimize human intervention and data errors. The system has been advised by PTA for implementation in all the cellular companies working in Pakistan.
