Taiwan’s HTC has reported a stronger than expected 32.8% rise in net profits for the second-quarter of this year. The company said that its unaudited net profit rose to NT$8.64 billion (US$268 million), on a 58% rise in revenues of NT$60.53 billion (US$1.88 billion).
The revenues beat an already updated revenue forecast of NT$50 billion which was announced in April.
“HTC’s second-quarter earnings result is better than its original second-quarter guidance, [as] both June and second-quarter revenues continuously hit record highs,” the company said in a statement.
This is the highest quarterly unaudited net profit HTC has seen since the last quarter of 2007, although at the time, Taiwanese companies did not treat employee bonuses as expenses, which would have altered the way a company recorded its net income.
