An Article by Parvana Maqsood, Secretary Media, FASP Islamabad (Magnolia)

Lahore-Virtual interaction has become the medium now a days. The Floral Art Society of Pakistan (FASP) Islamabad chapter Magnolia held a Virtual Competition and members were given two interesting topics.

Interlacing Nature – Weaving of natural plant material

Trash to Treasure – In keeping up with the new trend to recycling, waste materials were used in the exhibits

The participants showed keen interest in the competition and came up with very interesting designs. The judging and critique was done by Farida Kalim, a floral artist of international repute, a qualified judge and demonstrator. She has served as a National Chairperson. A monthly Zoom meeting was held where results were shared. Each arrangement was painstakingly critiqued by Farida Kalim.

It was a great learning exercise for each of the member, where all the aspects of floral art were discussed in detail, pointing out the pros and cons of this artwork. In total, 42 exhibits were displayed that itself is a credit to the members and the participants.

Highly commendable: Sarwat Aslam and Ashia Zahid

Commendable: Tabasum Razvi

Trash to Treasure

3rd Position: Parvana Maqsood

Highly commendable: Wiqar Bolani

Commendable: Hina Kamran and Farhat Zaman

The audience who participated online appreciated the efforts of the artists and praised their art.
