Etihad Airways sponsored the Islamabad Dashers’ first Annual Half Marathon on December 11, 2011 where a total funding of PKR 525,000 was raised, and will be utilized for building the Mashal School and Cancer Hospital in Lahore.
The marathon was a joint collaboration between the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad and the Islamabad Dashers.
Amer Khan, Etihad’s Country Manager in Pakistan, said: “Etihad Airways is proud to have been associated with such committed and talented individuals. We are always on the lookout for ways and means by which we can help make a difference in the local community.”
On behalf of the Islamabad Dashers, Ms. Sadia Salman expressed his gratitude to Etihad Airways and all participants, for supporting the 1st Annual Half Marathon. He appreciated the successful and smooth conclusion of this fun filled healthy activity.
A raffle draw was held as part of the fundraising program, with winners receiving two Etihad Airways’ tickets to the UAE.
Etihad operates 23 weekly flights from Pakistan with daily flights from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, and twice a week from Peshawar.
