MLSA & HEC initiated Pakistan’s first National Digital Hackathon

Lahore-Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors Pakistan – (MLSA), the renowned technology community, collaborated with Higher Education Commission (HEC) to initiate Pakistan first National Digital Hackathon under the theme of “Reimagining the Digital Pakistan”. This three day hackathon starting from 28th till 30th June 2021 is designed to enable students to use technology, to accomplish an objective, by solving a real-world problem scenario.

It drives innovation and creativity among brilliant minds by refining their great ideas that help them to kickstart their careers, Nurture teamwork capabilities and encourage diversity among participants. This Hackathon will take place virtually on Microsoft Teams platform. Student developers from all around Pakistan can participate through a registration process.

It’s an amazing opportunity for every university student to showcase their abilities. Participating teams can get the benefit of mentorship from Microsoft Experts, hackathon workflow, win 150,000 rupees cash prizes, awarded with Microsoft Certifications, earn 2000 USD of Azure credits, gift hampers and much more to be offered.

This competition enables participants to unleash their learning potential by developing tech-oriented solutions for the emerging IT world. Thus, bridging the gap between academia and the industry in the most practical manner.

MLSA Pakistan is a well-rounded community of Microsoft student ambassadors hailing from Pakistan. MLSA Pakistan being the 3rd largest MLSA community of the world is playing a pivotal role towards the betterment of humanity and society evangelizing diversity & inclusion. MLSA is the flagship campus ambassador program powered by Microsoft, empowering the student community to bridge the gap between academia and the industry.

Microsoft has always been a great mover towards hackathons and problem-solving activities as it reflects in Microsoft’s tagline “empowering every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more” so, accomplishing this great aim requires creating real-world applications as a countermeasure to the problems of the planet.

HEC has enjoyed a decade-long partnership with Microsoft, and through this partnership, HEC has extended multiple services to universities over the years. These services are not only limited to Faculty capacity building programs but also cover free Genuine Software portal where students of any university can get latest Microsoft Products, M365 services for Faculty/ Staff & Students and offer a platform for students in Pakistan to showcase their technical talent and potential to audiences around the globe, called Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program.
