The Mobilink Foundation has donated 1,000 school bags, made from recycled advertising material, to the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF). The school bags were handed over by Mobilink Foundation Torchbearers, at a ceremony organized at the SEF Child Development Center, in Shershah, Karachi.
Employee volunteers, known as the Mobilink Torchbearers, helped distribute bags amongst students at the school, using the opportunity to interact with the children and emphasize the importance of education for a brighter future.
Omar Manzur, Director Public Relations and CSR, Mobilink highlighted: “The Mobilink Foundation is deeply committed towards making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged across Pakistan, especially our children. The recycled bags allow us to contribute on the dual fronts of protecting our environment, as well as providing children with a durable educational aide. I would like to express my gratitude to the Sindh Education Foundation for allowing us this opportunity to interact with, and make a small difference to the lives of the children at their schools.”
The Mobilink Foundation launched the ‘Recycled School Bags’ initiative in 2007, and has since donated over 30,000 bags made from recycled advertising panaflex material to organizations such as the JAQ Educational Trust, CARE Foundation, Zindagi Trust and now Sindh Education Foundation.
