Samsung employees were visiting the flood affected areas around Narowal, Zafarwal, Hafizabad, Jhang and Muzafargarah to distribute food packages and relief goods among the people suffering due to the disastrous floods that hit Pakistan recently.
Assuming its social responsibility as a leading corporate citizen of Pakistan, the global technology leader has initiated a generous flood-relief programed to meet the needs of the flood victims. Over the past decade, Samsung has repeatedly showed its humanitarian spirit, by launching extensive relief and rehabilitation responses to the natural calamities hitting Pakistan.
In view of the recent floods, that have caused widespread destruction across Punjab and Sindh, Samsung has initiated this relief campaign. During this humanitarian action, Samsung will be providing nutritional assistance to hundreds of families. The employees have now begun their visits to the flood affected areas for handing over relief goods.
The Managing Director of Samsung Pakistan – John Park stated that; “Samsung has always remained at the forefront of responding to the challenges faced by Pakistan. Learning from our experiences from the relief operations conducted in the past, our compassionate employees have now prepared an immediate and comprehensive flood response plan. As always, Samsung will take the lead in reaching out to the flooded areas.”
These relief and rehabilitation activities will counter the impact of flood related devastation, caused by the torrential rains and canal breaches. Samsung will be providing food supplies for the affected, which have lost their livelihood and valuable assets during the catastrophe. The floods have also caused severe damage to the roads network and infrastructure over a vast area.
