Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, an advanced network solution provider, today demonstrated its strong commitment to the 4G LTE market in Asia, announcing field trials and pilots for 2011, with some Smart LTE solutions at the 6th LTE Asia conference in Singapore.
Based on a close partnership with Asian operators, Samsung plans to find the most effective methods to meet the demands for mobile internet service. Following the success of Samsung’s Mobile WiMAX and CDMA deployments, Samsung now brings its range of 4G LTE products for Macro and Small cells. This innovation allows flexible deployments in any environments and provides a solution to mobile service providers who are facing increased growth in data traffic as a result of the rapid uptake in smart phones and tablet PCs.
Samsung Pakistan’s Managing Director, Mr. Hee Chang Yee said, “Asia is one of the most dynamic and passionate telecommunication markets; the demand for mobile broadband services is such that we expect it to account for more than 30% of global mobile data traffic. We strongly believe that Samsung can play a key role in makingAsiaa center of mobile broadband culture using LTE, based on our advanced technology, unbeatable OFDMA experiences and excellent understanding of the market.
By adopting a centralized radio resource management technology, Samsung Smart LTE solution enhances the overall network capacity by reducing inter-cell interferences and supporting easier consumption and expansion. This solution significantly reduces CAPEX and OPEX by decreasing the required number of base stations compared to conventional deployment. Samsung Smart LTE provides a solution to inner city areas which require additional base stations to handle the dramatic increase in data traffic.
Samsung understands the era of anywhere-and-anytime communication, as it provides high-quality CDMA commercial systems and world class WiMAX solutions in many countries. Samsung has already partnered with dozens of mobile service providers to help them implement LTE service thanks to their vast knowledge of OFDMA technology. Samsung plans to launch the industry’s first LTE SmallCell solution inJapanin 2012 and the world’s first TD-LTE network inSaudi Arabiain Q3 2011. Samsung is driving the industry forward as one of the most influential network solution providers holding the most positions in the 3GPP and having a significant amount of IPR related to 4G OFDMA technology.
