Lahore-Pakistan’s leading Fiber to the Home (FTTH) broadband service provider, StormFiber, has joined hands with the Karachi United football club to induct their coaches and players to assist StormFiber in increasing its capacity to supportingexisting connections and deploying new ones during the pandemic.
Although the sports scene of Pakistan is dominated by cricket, football is fast emerging as a popular sport in the country. Among the top football clubs of Pakistan is Karachi United that has countless achievements under its belt since its inception in 1996. The Karachi United football club has had a big role to play in achieving football excellence in Pakistan and promoting the sport at the grassroots level. It also aims for community development through the popular sport. The players of the famous Karachi United (KU) football club are known for their hard work, dedication, ambition, and strength. They belong to Lyari, a neighborhood known for its challenges, yet their love for sports and persistence remains unconditional.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has put the club’s major activities to a halt while putting employments of its staff members at risk. Recently with the spate of unprecedented cuts to its drop wires as well as demand for new connections, StormFiber has been hiring aggressively to deploy more support teams to repair affected connections and deploy new connections. To support the club during this economic downturn, StormFiberwill be bringing onboard football club’s coaches and players to assist the company in keeping its customer connected.
“Karachi United FC is one of Pakistan’s best football clubs and we’re very privileged to work with them.” said FawadLaher, Managing Director at StormFiber. “These are extremely testing times for all and sports have been as badly affected as any other walk of life by the COVID-19 outbreak. With the immense increase in demand for new connections and increased repair times due to cable cuts, StormFiber requires many more capable resources and we are deeply honoured that the Karachi United FC members would join our team durng this time. We remain hopeful and motivated for the resumption of the game and look to collaborate post-COVID as well”.
Mr. Talib Hussain, Program Manager KU, also shared his views, “We are looking forward to this employment partnership and we hope that other companies will also take such initiatives, to enable the growth and development of youth. We are grateful to the management of StormFiber for providing these employment opportunities.”
This collaboration with Karachi United FC is an extension of StormFiber’s efforts to empowerPakistani society and create constructive opportunities for the youth.
